Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 12! and more...

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 12!

Woah… I am LOVING this reading so close to Easter!!

It’s so much fun to see the fulfillment of so much prophecy in our reading. I’m also absolutely soaking in the gospels’ accounts of responses to Jesus. He really shook things up! I like to wonder what I. would have understood or completely missed had I been there.

(eek. yeah. probably would have missed a lot.)

Reading the millennia after it happened, and yet just after reading the Old Testament 100% gets cooler every single time I do this. And I’m always amazed at how different things reach out and grab me every time.

I hope you are enjoying the reading and being touched by it in amazing ways and seeing things like never before… regardless if this is your first time reading the Bible or your 50th.

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 12 Reflection Questions

Questions as you head into your twelfth week of reading:

  • Now that you are in the midst of reading all 4 gospels back to back, after reading the Old Testament so recently, has anything new stood out to you?
  • In reading the fulfillment of so much prophecy right after reading the prophecies, do you think you would have recognized so much if you were there witnessing it?
  • What stories in the gospels stood out to you most? Why do you think that was the case?

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 12 Reading Schedule

  • Day 78: John 15:18 – Acts 6:7
  • Day 79: Acts 6:8 – 16:37
  • Day 80: Acts 16:38 – 28:16
  • Day 81: Acts 28:17 – Romans 14:23
  • Day 82: Romans 15:1 – 1 Corinthians 14:40
  • Day 83: 1 Corinthians 15:1 – Galatians 3:25
  • Day 84: Galatians 3:26 – Colossians 4:18

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 11!

Hello dear readers and thank you for joining me in this adventure in reading and journaling through the entire Bible in just 90 days. It has been an exciting adventure for me this time, as it always is. I am honored that you are in the experience with me and pray you are enjoying it and hearing the Lord often.

Writing out my thoughts using the SOAP format in the journal has been super helpful for me this go round. It’s even inspired me to create another Bible reading and SOAPing journal so please stay tuned for more on that in a future post.

WOW! We made it through the Old Testament!

How exciting is that?!

I have to wonder how many of you reading with me have completed reading the entire Old Testament for the first time. Please drop me a note and let me know if this was your first, fifteenth or somewhere in between. It’s always nice to hear.

For me, I love getting to the New Testament after the Old, when so much is fresh in my mind and I can see the fulfillment of so much prophecy and reflect back more easily.

I hope you have a similar experience.

Here’s what we have ahead of us this week.

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 11 Reflection Questions

  • Which were your favorite books to read this week? Why?
  • Which book was the most challenging to read this week? Why do you think that was so?
  • As you get ready to dive deeper into the fulfillment of prophecy, be on the lookout for references to things you have read in the past 70 days. Even if you have read the New Testament before this, some new things may stand out to you. Take note of those.

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days Week 10! (and a Texas bluebonnet pic!)

Hello, friends!

I regret that I am a day late in posting this week’s reading schedule. My daughter needed someone to ride with her on a trip to and from Kerrville yesterday (10 hours round trip) so, of course, I drove her.

With this being her senior year of high school and plan for college forming, I am cherishing each moment more and more. So when she needed someone to accompany here, of course I jumped at the chance for the (somewhat) quick trip.

Since I had not planned ahead, there was not a post at the ready. I didn’t even get to do my Bible reading and journaling until after we arrived at her destination. Just after I dropped her off to the party she was attending, I found a cute coffeeshop and go to my reading:

I read, journaled, sipped lemonade, bought bakery treats for the next morning and my daughter visited with friends.

Then we drove 5 more hours home, enjoying the beautiful bluebonnets along the highway. (Spring IS rather beautiful in our par t of the world!)

We even stopped along the side of I-10 and snapped a few pics. (How could we resist??)

So I do hope that you’ll forgive my tardiness this week.

(Of course, if you have my book, you have the reading schedule. :)

Thank you for your patience.

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 10 Reflection Questions

Questions as you head into your tenth week of reading:
  • Is it getting easier or harder to do the daily reading and journaling… or has it remained constant?
  • Did the end of Jeremiah surprise you? Did you learn anything new or see it with new eyes?
  • Did anything stand out to you especially as you read Lamentations?
  • In Ezekiel, what major themes did you see?
  • There are so many notable stories just in the beginning of Daniel. Which ones impacted you the most? Why?
  • Was there anything in this week’s reading that changed the way you thought about something? What?

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 10 Reading Schedule

  • Day 64: Daniel 9:1 – Hosea 13:6
  • Day 65: Hosea 13:7 – Amos 9:10
  • Day 66: Amos 9:11 – Nahum 3:19
  • Day 67: Habakkuk 1:1 – Zechariah 10:12
  • Day 68: Zechariah 11:1 – Malachi 4 Today is the day you will finish reading the entire Old Testament!
  • Day 69: Ready to launch into the New Testament?? Matthew 1-4
  • Day 70: Matthew 5:1 – Matthew 15:39

Did you catch that up there? This week we make our way into the NEW TESTAMENT!! How exciting is that?

I’m thrilled to be reading with you and hope you are digging in deep each day. I have loved seeing my journal fill up more with each day, but, more than that, I love how the reading stays with me longer and I hear echoes after journaling. I pray the same for you.

And I pray you take the time to enjoy a few joyful moments as I did with my daughter this weekend.

Big hugs,

Amy

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 9!

Y’all! We are more than half-way through reading and journaling through the entire Bible!! How cool is that?!

How’s it going? Are you still with me and on track? Ahead? A touch behind? Waaaaaaaaaay behind?

I have done this several times and it amazes me each time how I hear Him… and the different verses and messages that stand out to me each time. The guided journaling on paper this time in my book has also added a new dimension that I’ve really enjoyed.

Wherever you are are in the reading and journaling, I am so excited for you in joining me on this journey and I pray you are learning, growing and soaking Him in with every word.

This is a BIG commitment. It has tough moments. But it is SO WORTHWHILE. Please keep it up wherever you may be.

Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Week 8!

Hello to you and thank you for reading and journaling through the Bible along with me.

Last week held so much affirmation for me through the reading and SOAP. For that I am truly thankful.

I had been praying regularly about hearing direction from the Holy Spirit. I had wanted so very much to follow Him, but I had so many questions as to whether direction I was hearing was coming from the Holy Spirit or just from myself.

Was I justifying several things and barreling ahead because I felt it was best? Or was I really acting in accordance with His direction?

And last week it came flooding in.

“I have you! I always have! You are hearing me as I put a beautiful, strong foundation in you with the Holy Spirit.”

I am so thankful for spending this time reading and SOAPing. It definitely helps me to slow down and listen.

I sure hope you are hearing Him, too. I hope and pray that this reading and SOAP time is blessing you in so many ways.
