Free children’s ministry deals resources

If you are after some resources for you kids work at church, then the Free children’s ministry deals website could help. Not all of the resources at this website are free, but there is a good selection nonetheless. The resources are aimed at children from 5-12 years old.

To find the free resources, simply scroll down the page and look at the menu on the left, you should then see the Free Resources section. Simple!

Sunday School Lessons for Kids

Here you can get access to over 150 free Sunday school sessions. That will last you over three years if you do one session a week! These are not complete courses, but nonetheless is a great selection of children’s ministry resources that can help your church.

Free VBS resources

]These resources are for vacation bible schools, although you could use them for anything. It includes 5 full sessions. These are all supported by lots of other free resources such as game ideas, colouring in sheets, and a full guide on the course.

Free Books of the Bible Children’s Ministry Resources

These selection of the website helps teach children about all 66 books in the bible. It does this over a course of 12 weeks of lessons – you have to pay for the main curriculum, but you can get everything else free. The resources include all posters, flash cards, games (linked to the books of the bible) and would supplement you own sessions.

Free Tim Keller Sermon archive – Gospel in Life

You can get access 250 sermons at the free Tim Keller sermon archive, hosted by Gospel in Life. Considering the full archive costs a rather large $1,600 this is a good way to listen to a large selection of Tim Keller’s work. Gospelinlife.com is the site for all sermons, books, articles, and resources from Timothy Keller, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and Redeemer City to City

If you’ve not heard of Tim Keller the website provides the following summary:

In 1989 Dr. Timothy J. Keller, his wife and three young sons moved to New York City to begin Redeemer Presbyterian Church. He has since become a bestselling author, an influential thinker, and an advocate for ministry in cities and to secular people.

I’d encourage you to listen to some of his stuff, I’m currently working through the sermons on prayer life and am finding them very powerful. You can either stream the videos online or sign up for an account to allow you to download an mp3. You can also sign up for an email newsletter that will regularly provide you with free sermons.

If you enjoy his sermons you might be interested in how he prepares to preach, it is certainly a different approach to many pastors that includes a lot of planning.

Free bible study with logos bible software

You can undertake free bible study with Logos Bible software. It is a very powerful bible study tool, and you can get the free basic download which also includes some books. Furthermore, you can also get one free book every month. So slowly you can start to build up a collection. Logos bible software is run by Faithlife, who also provide a free book every month for download.

I’d highly recommend trying logos out. I actually use it myself having invested in the platform over the last decade to build up my library, but you can get the more basic version free.

The good things about trying free bible study with logos bible software

It is a very powerful bit of software. The free version will help you study Greek or Hebrew words, and also includes some dictionaries that can help you understand topics. Just click on a word and you can easily access linked resources.
You can build up notes and highlights across any books. This is very helpful in helping you keep track of what you are studying. You can also group things together so you don’t have to see all of your highlights, but could for instance focus just on your highlights for Christian living.
You can use logos on lots of different computers, and they will all synchronise together. The main software can be download on your PC or Mac, and there are also version you can use on your iPhone, iPad, android device or kindle reader. On the mobile devices you need to select which resources you want to download (so it won’t clog up all of your space!), but on the PC and Mac everything will download. You can also access logos through the internet.
Everything is linked. Logos bible software makes it very easy to find other instances of a word simply by clicking on it. You can click on the image to right to expand it and see an example of clicking on the word astonished.
As I mentioned at the start, every month you can also get one free Christian book.

The added bonus of free personal books

As well as the software and free books you receive, you can also unlock many more books by adding your own free personal books. This is a very powerful way to add your own books or studies right into the software.

But even better than that, you can upload other books that people have made available for free. There is a large list of available books here. You will find many great classic books here, these are all legal as they are not currently under copyright.

The not so good things about logos bible software

Logos is not for everyone. As I mention, I use logos and have invested money in building up my collection. However logos, particularly for the PC and Mac, is not the easiest of programmes to use. If you want a really simple tool, then you may find logos a bit too much. The iOS and android apps are more easy to use. Of course as it is free, there is nothing to stop you trying it out and then ditching it if you don’t find it is helping your study time.
Secondly, the only bibles in the basic version are the Lexham English Bible and the KJV. If you want any other versions you will have to pay extra money to receive them.

Free Matt Chandler book – The Mingling of Souls

You can get access to a free Matt Chandler book this month through Faithlife. Matt Chandler is an elder and the lead pastor of teaching at The Village Church, and he published his first book, The Explicit Gospel, in 2012. The free book, The Mingling of Souls, is based on the song of songs and looks at how we should view love from God’s perspective.

Faithlife is fantastic resource as every month a new free book is provided.
