It's SO Hard to Say Goodbye and more...

It's SO Hard to Say Goodbye

Today's post comes with a very heavy heart. I have made the difficult decision to step down from the My Favorite Things Design Team. MFT has been a HUGE part of my crafty life for so many years so this decision was not an easy one.

After 15 years of being a stay-at-home mom, I made the decision to go back to work this past December. I am really enjoying my new job, but found that the demands of a design team just didn't fit into my life anymore. I also want to spend more time with my girls who are (almost) 16 and 13. Before I know it, they will be off to college so this time is important to me.

I have to admit that I won't miss the deadlines, but I WILL miss being part of the amazing MFT team. How lucky am I to have designed for Kim van der Sanden and her amazing company for as long as I have. I will continue to cheer MFT on from the sidelines and will anxiously await all of the new goodies each month!

Before I go, I wanted to share a few of my favorite cards I've made with MFT stamps. When you see these cards you'll see a running theme: KRAFT card stock. It's truly one of my faves ;)

Thanks for much for stopping by!

MFT February New Product Launch - Harlequin and Houndstooth

Hi there everyone! It's time for the February New Product Launch from My Favorite Things! Everything we've introduced over the last five days is NOW AVAILABLE for purchase in the MFT Boutique! Whoop! We've also got some more inspiration for all those sets you've got your eye on so head on over to the MFT Blog for direct links to each designer.

I've got two cards to share tonight that use some of my FAVORITE background stamps: Harlequin and Houndstooth. I've paired them with Blueprints 22 and the following colors: Coral Crush, Ripe Raspberry, Bubblegum, and Sweet Tooth.

Here is the first card. Isn't the color combo fun? I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone as far as color combos. I tend to lean towards the neutrals, but am having fun trying new combos.

The sentiment is from Candy Jar Companions.

Here is the second card.

Thanks for stopping by!

I love these word Die-namics that MFT has been releasing because they don't need a lot of embellishing.so they make for quick and easy cards.

MFT February Release Countdown: 3!

Hi there everyone! Welcome back to the February Release Countdown from My Favorite Things! Only three more days until all of the new release goodies will be available for purchase! But today we've got even more fabulous introductions for you so make sure you head on over to the MFT Blog for all of today's details!

I made two cards today that feature the new Wavy Greetings stamp set and Ride the Wave Die-namics, along with the Houndstooth Background. The colors I used are Natural, Primitive Cream and the brand new Coral Crush.

I love the new Wavy Greetings stamp set. The curve in the sentiments match the Ride the Wave Die-namics perfectly. It's been a while since I used my favorite Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose and Leaf-Filled Flourish so I took the opportunity to use them today. They pair beautifully with these new sets.

Here are my two cards. I am a huge fan of using the same colors when making more than one card. I also love making coordinating cards with slightly different layouts. I also didn't use the Ride the Wave Die-namics as they were intended to be used. Instead, I used one of the dies to make the curve on the Natural piece of card stock to accommodate the sentiment. I was trying to think outside the box. What do you think?

I stamped this Mini Hybrid Rose with the Linen Background.

The finished inside:

Isn't this one fun with the sentiment on its side?

This Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose was stamped with the Houndstooth Background. Love the new Coral Crush color.

The finished inside also stamped on its side.
