Yesterday and Tomorrow

My whimsical nature pieces are "joy bringers".
Again trying to focus on the joys of nature and being present in the moment, I watch birds, and nature and truly find delight in the moment.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder

When I create whimsical nature pieces I often think of music and poetry.
Meaningful words taking shape in symbolic birds, flowers, and nature.

The proverb “absence makes the heart grow fonder” describes the feeling of greater affection between friends and lovers who are kept apart. It is a phrase that, in on one form or another, can be traced back for millennia—the Roman poet Sextus is credited with the earliest version of the phrase

"Some research states the phrase was first published in 1602 as the first line of an anonymous poem in Francis Davison's anthology Poetical Rhapsody, although this has been disputed. "

Anyhow - I hope you enjoy this painting.

Colorful creative canvas

"Wren Song Two"

We have so many birds in our yard this year. It is such a joy to sit outside. We counted at least 9 different types in one hour just rocking on the porch.

This whimsical painting is a joy bringer. Joy is important.

"Joy clears away negative thoughts with astounding swiftness. It cleanses more thoroughly than any kind of energy. Joy is paramount to spiritual growth"
Diane L. Ross
