Série "Trésors des arts visuels nationaux" sur FDCs de Malaisie 

À travers son exposition permanente "79-89 : Amour Made in Malaysia", la Galerie nationale d'art de Malaisie établit un lien entre l'art et la culture visuelle afin de favoriser une meilleure compréhension des récits historiques de la Malaisie.
Durant cette période, les activités artistiques, qu'il s'agisse de cinéma, de musique, de littérature ou d'arts visuels, ont transcendé la simple expression pour devenir un phénomène déterminant du mode de vie et de la conscience collective malaisiens.
Entre la fin des années 1970 et la fin des années 1980, les processus conceptuels et créatifs des artistes visuels malaisiens ont connu une profonde transformation. Cette évolution a été largement impulsée par les changements de la politique culturelle nationale, qui mettait l'accent sur la quête d'une identité nationale.
Dans ce contexte de bouleversements, la Galerie nationale d'art de Malaisie a joué un rôle essentiel grâce au Concours des jeunes talents contemporains (BMS), contribuant ainsi à façonner et à marquer la trajectoire de l'art contemporain du pays. 
Through its permanent collection exhibition, "79-89: Love Made in Malaysia", the National Art Gallery Malaysia bridges art and visual culture to foster a deeper understanding of Malaysia's historical narratives.
During this era, artistic activities spanning film, music, literature and the visual arts transcended mere expression to become a defining phenomenon of the Malaysian lifestyle and public consciousness.
The period between the late 1970s and the late 1980s witnessed a profound transformation in the conceptual and creative processes of Malaysian visual artists. This evolution was largely driven by the shifts in the National Cultural Policy, which placed a significant emphasis on the profound quest for a national identity.
Amidst these sweeping changes, the National Art Gallery Malaysia played a pivotal role through the Young Contemporaries Competition (BMS), shaping and marking the trajectory of the nation's contemporary art. 

Le 9 avril 2026, la poste malaisienne a mis en circulation une très jolie série (2 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) illustrant des œuvres d'artistes de cette période "1979-1989" ayant reçu des récompenses lors de ce Concours des jeunes talents contemporains.
Le bloc-feuillet et les 2 timbres figurent respectivement sur les 2 FDCs officiels ci-dessus et ci-dessous (avec illustration montrant l'édifice de la Galerie nationale d'art à Kuala Lumpur, inauguré en 2000), avec TAD de Kuala Lumpur. Merci beaucoup Khor !
Le bloc-feuillet ci-dessus (5 RM) représente une œuvre de Ponirin Amin (né en 1952), "Chess Aliby Pulau Bidong" (1980), qui revêt une importance particulière dans l'actualité. La fraîcheur de l'approche et l'utilisation intelligente des médias, ancrées dans un contexte social significatif et inscrites dans un cadre esthétique précis, sont remarquables. La sophistication de l'œuvre est d'une grande qualité.
On April 9, 2026, the Malaysian Post released a very attractive series (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) illustrating works by artists from this 1979-1989 period who received awards in the Young Contemporaries Competition.
The souvenir sheet and the two stamps are featured on the two official First Day Covers above and below (featuring an illustration of the National Art Gallery building in Kuala Lumpur, opened in 2000), along with cancellations from Kuala Lumpur. Thank you very much, Khor!
The souvenir sheet above (5 RM) depicts a work by Ponirin Amin (born in 1952), "Chess Aliby Pulau Bidong" (1980), which holds recent topical significance. The freshness of approach and intelligent use of media, with a significant social context, yet set in aesthetic frame of reference is outstanding. The work of art's sophistication is a quality relationally high.

Le timbre ci-dessus en 2 exemplaires (1,50 RM) est consacré à une œuvre de Fauzan Omar (né en 1951) intitulée "Layer Series" (1982).
L'intérêt de Fauzan Omar pour la planéité de la toile est constamment mis en valeur par l'intégration de techniques de collage et de gravure sur bois. Il en résulte un jeu délibéré entre illusion et réalité. Les idées intellectuelles présentes dans ses grandes œuvres s'inscrivent dans les préoccupations esthétiques internationales relatives à la notion d'objet. 
L'autre timbre (20 sen) représente un autoportrait ("Potret Diri", 1982) par l'artiste Amron Omar (né en 1957).
La maîtrise du réalisme académique par Amron Omar est particulièrement manifeste dans cette peinture à l'huile d'une grande finesse. Cet artiste a clairement établi une nouvelle norme d'excellence dans ce domaine artistique. La composition harmonieuse de cette œuvre et la finesse du rendu des tonalités chromatiques témoignent de la constance et de la maturité de l'artiste. La maîtrise du langage et du milieu, ainsi que la représentation précise du sujet localisé, sont caractéristiques de ce peintre de la figure humaine. 
The stamp above, in two copies (1.50 RM), features a work by Fauzan Omar (born 1951) entitled "Layer Series" (1982).
Fauzan Omar's interest in the physically flat character of the canvas surface have been highlighted consistently by the incorporation of hard-edged and collage techniques. The resultant effect is a deliberate play between illusion and reality. The intellectual ideas evident in his large works have their frame of reference in international aesthetic preoccupations pertaining to the realm of 'objecthood'. 
The other stamp (20 sen) depicts a self-portrait ("Potret Diri", 1982) by the artist Amron Omar (born 1957).
Amron Omar's sophisticated handling of academic realism is very evident in this highly accomplished oil painting. This artist has clearly set new standard of achievement in the handling of this particular idiom. The finely balanced composition of this particular work and the sensitively-observed renderings of colour tonalities evoked by this artist reaffirms his consistence and maturity. The skilled exploitation of idiom and medium and the deliberate depiction of localised subject-matter constitute a hallmark of this painter of the human figure. 

   

Bloc-feuillet EUROPA 2026 (70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA) sur FDC de Gibraltar 

L'année 2026 marque le 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, une initiative philatélique lancée pour renforcer les relations entre les pays européens et promouvoir une paix et une unité durables.
Émis pour la première fois en 1956 par six nations – la Belgique, la France, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas, membres fondateurs de l'Union européenne – ce programme s'est étendu progressivement à 53 organisations postales participantes.
L'an dernier, le groupe de travail Timbres et Philatélie de PostEurop a organisé un concours interne pour choisir un motif commun sur le thème "70ème anniversaire du timbre EUROPA : Unis par...".
Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026.

Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026. 

Le 30 mars 2026, la poste de Gibraltar a mis en circulation une jolie série (2 timbres) consacrée à ce thème du 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, dont un incluant le logo EUROPA, celui reproduisant le projet de Klaus Welp (1,96£). 
Ces 2 timbres ont été imprimés (par Cartor Security Printers en France) dans un même feuillet de 6 timbres (3 de chaque) ainsi que dans un bloc-feuillet, utilisé sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus.
Le timbre EUROPA, à gauche, allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres. 
L'autre timbre (3,16£), conçu par Stephen Perera, est la contribution artistique de Gibraltar à cet anniversaire. Ce timbre utilise des éléments graphiques contemporains (un visage humain) et une palette distincte pour refléter l'identité unique du Rocher au sein de la grande famille européenne. 
A noter que Gibraltar a émis ses premiers timbres EUROPA en 1979, illustrant alors le thème de l'histoire postale. Pour rappel, la poste de Gibraltar n'est pas officiellement membre de l'association PostEurop. Gibraltar émet toutefois des timbres EUROPA, utilisant le logo officiel uniquement depuis 2012 (sauf en 2013)...
On March 30, 2026, Gibraltar Post issued a nice set (two stamps) commemorating the 70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps, one of which includes the EUROPA logo, reproducing Klaus Welp's design (£1.96).
These two stamps have been printed (by Cartor Security Printers in France) in a single sheetlet of six stamps (three of each) as well as in a souvenir sheet, used on the official FDC above.
The EUROPA stamp, on the left, combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations.
The other stamp (£3.16), designed by Stephen Perera, is Gibraltar's artistic contribution to this anniversary. This stamp uses contemporary graphic elements (a human face) and a distinct palette to reflect the Rock's unique identity within the larger European family.
It should be noted that Gibraltar issued its first EUROPA stamps in 1979, illustrating the theme of postal history. As a reminder, Gibraltar Post is not an official member of PostEurop. However, Gibraltar is issuing EUROPA stamps, using the official logo only since 2012 (except in 2013)...  

   

Timbre "Personnalités illustres - Michel-Ange" sur FDC du Kirghizstan (KEP) 

Michel-Ange Buonarroti (1475-1564) était un grand sculpteur, peintre, architecte, poète et penseur italien (florentin) de la Haute Renaissance et du début de l'époque baroque. 
Comme elle le fait pratiquement chaque année, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), le 2ème opérateur postal désigné du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation, le 29 décembre 2025, une intéressante série (4 timbres) consacrée à différentes personnalités internationales du monde de la culture et des sciences dont un timbre à l'occasion du 550ème anniversaire de la naissance de Michel-Ange Buonarroti.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 300) envoyé depuis Bichkek, la capitale du pays, concernant ce timbre ! 
Ce timbre (150 KGS, tirage : 6000), conçu par Daria Maier et imprimé en Moldavie par Nova Imprim, montre un portrait de Michel-Ange Buonarroti ainsi que sa signature.
Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564) was a great Italian (Florentine) sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and thinker of the High Renaissance and early Baroque periods.
As it is the case practically every year, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation, on December 29, 2025, an interesting series (4 stamps) dedicated to different international personalities from the world of culture and science, including a stamp commemorating the 550th anniversary of Michelangelo Buonarroti's birth.
I was lucky enough to receive the official FDC below (print run: 300) sent from Bishkek, the country's capital, concerning this stamp! 
This stamp (150 KGS, print run: 6,000), designed by Daria Maier and printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, features a portrait of Michelangelo Buonarroti and his signature. 

Les capacités créatives et la maîtrise de Michel-Ange dans différents domaines artistiques le définissent comme un archétype de l'homme de la Renaissance, aux côtés de son rival et contemporain, Léonard de Vinci.
Certaines de ses œuvres sont considérées comme des chefs-d'œuvre de la Renaissance : David (1504), la Pietà (1499), exposée dans une chapelle latérale de la basilique Saint-Pierre au Vatican, Moïse (1515) du tombeau de Jules II dans la basilique Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens de Rome, le plafond de la chapelle Sixtine, peint entre 1508 et 1512, Le Jugement dernier, exécuté entre 1536 et 1541 sur le mur de l'autel de cette chapelle...
En tant qu'architecte, il conçoit en particulier le dôme de la basilique Saint-Pierre au Vatican en 1508. 
Michelangelo's creative abilities and mastery in various artistic fields define him as an archetypal Renaissance man, alongside his rival and contemporary, Leonardo da Vinci.
Some of his works are considered Renaissance masterpieces: David (1504), the Pietà (1499), exhibited in a side chapel of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Moses (1515) from the tomb of Julius II in the St. Peter in Chains Basilica in Rome, the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, painted between 1508 and 1512, and The Last Judgment, executed between 1536 and 1541 on the altar wall of this chapel...
As an architect, he notably designed the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican in 1508. 

Ce timbre, conçu à partir d'un portrait de Michel-Ange par Daniele da Volterra (vers 1545, Metropolitan Museum of Art de New York), a été imprimé dans le joli feuillet ci-dessus composé de 5 timbres + 1 vignette.
La Kyrgyz Express Post a également mis en circulation le même jour la carte-maximum ci-dessous (MC-162, tirage : 400) concernant ce timbre.
D'autres administrations postales ont également émis des timbres en 2025 consacrés à Michel-Ange : Roumanie, Italie, Ordre de Malte, Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo et HP Mostar), Vietnam, Cité du Vatican, Bulgarie.
This stamp, designed after a portrait of Michelangelo by Daniele da Volterra (circa 1545, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York), was printed in the attractive sheetlet above, consisting of five stamps and one label.
Kyrgyz Express Post also issued the maxicard below (MC-162, print run: 400) featuring this stamp, on the same day.

Le 8 mai 2026, la poste géorgienne a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique reproduisant le dessin conçu par Klaus Welp.  
Ce timbre de grand format (5 GEL, tirage : 20004), imprimé en feuillet de 6 timbres, a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 16 mai 2026 depuis Tbilissi. Merci beaucoup Khatuna !
A noter que le logo EUROPA ne figure curieusement pas sur ce timbre (uniquement dans la marge supérieure du feuillet...).

On May 8, 2026, the Georgian Post put into circulation a unique EUROPA stamp reproducing the design by Klaus Welp.
This large-format stamp (5 GEL, print run: 20,004), printed in a sheetlet of 6, was used twice on the cover above, sent on May 16, 2026, from Tbilisi. Thank you so much, Khatuna!
Note that the EUROPA logo is curiously missing on this stamp (it appears only in the top margin of the sheetlet...).

Timbres courants (Paysages, 2012) sur lettre de la dépendance de Ross (Nouvelle-Zélande) 

La dépendance de Ross est une région de l'Antarctique revendiquée par la Nouvelle-Zélande.
Ce territoire émet ses propres timbres depuis 1957 (timbres de Nouvelle-Zélande surchargés auparavant) avec une interruption en 1987 suite à la fermeture du bureau postal de la base scientifique Scott. Les émissions ont repris depuis 1994, gérées depuis un bureau postal à Christchurch.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir la lettre ci-dessous qui a transité le 7 mai 2026 par la base antarctique Scott, une station de recherche scientifique néo-zélandaise établie en 1957 sur l'île de Ross, une île volcanique de la mer de Ross, faisant partie de cette dépendance de Ross. 
Cette base est gérée par Antarctica New Zealand, un institut créé par le gouvernement néo-zélandais en 1996 pour gérer ses intérêts en Antarctique et dans la mer de Ross. 
The Ross Dependency is a region of Antarctica claimed by New Zealand.
This territory has issued its own stamps since 1957 (previously overprinted New Zealand stamps), with a hiatus in 1987 following the closure of the Scott Scientific Station post office. Issues resumed in 1994, managed from a post office in Christchurch.
I was lucky enough to receive the cover below, which passed throug the Scott Station on May 7, 2026, a New Zealand scientific research station established in 1957 on Ross Island, a volcanic island in the Ross Sea, part of this Ross Dependency.
This station is managed by Antarctica New Zealand, an institute established by the New Zealand government in 1996 to manage its interests in Antarctica and the Ross Sea.

A noter en bas sur l'enveloppe cette empreinte avec mention de la base Scott et sa latitude (sa longitude n'y figure pas...).
Un TAD de la base Scott a été appliqué le 7 mai 2026 en bas à droite, avant de transiter le 11 mai 2026 par Christchurch, via cet autre TAD (avec mention "Agence de la dépendance de Ross") appliqué sur le timbres. 
Ces 3 timbres font partie d'une jolie série courante (5 timbres) émise le 21 novembre 2012, illustrant des paysages emblématiques de la dépendance de Ross.
Le mont Erebus (70c), volcan actif le plus méridional du monde, est le plus grand des quatre volcans qui composent l'île de Ross. C'est le plus haut volcan de la dépendance de Ross et le deuxième plus haut d'Antarctique. Cet impressionnant volcan a été découvert et nommé par James Clark Ross en 1841.
Avec une salinité plus de dix fois supérieure à celle de l'eau de mer, le lac Vanda (1,90$) est l'un des lacs les plus hypersalins au monde. Recouvert en permanence d'une couche de glace transparente de trois à cinq mètres d'épaisseur, il mesure cinq kilomètres de long et atteint une profondeur maximale de 69 mètres.
Séparant la mer de Ross à l'est et l'océan Austral à l'ouest, le cap Adare (2,40$) est la péninsule la plus au nord-est de la dépendance de Ross et de l'Antarctique oriental. Il abrite également la plus grande colonie de manchots Adélie au monde.

A Scott Base postmark was applied on May 7, 2026, in the bottom right corner, before transiting by Christchurch on May 11, 2026, via this other cancellation (with the mention "Ross Dependency Agency") applied to the stamps.
These 3 stamps are part of a lovely definitive series (5 stamps) issued on November 21, 2012, illustrating iconic landscapes of the Ross Dependency.
The world's southernmost active volcano, Mount Erebus (70c) is the largest of four that form Ross Island, the highest volcano in the Ross Dependency and the second highest volcano in Antarctica. This impressive volcano was discovered and named by James Clark Ross in 1841.
With salinity more than 10 times that of seawater, Lake Vanda (1.90$) is one of the world's most hyper-saline lakes. It is permanently covered with three to five metres of transparent ice, is five kilometres long and has a maximum depth of 69 metres.
Separating the Ross Sea to the east and the Southern Ocean to the west, Cape Adare (2.40$) is the north-easternmost peninsula in the Ross Dependency and East Antarctica. It is also the site of the largest Adélie penguin rookery in the world.
