No Place Like Home featured on Life Framer

My photo series about human (dis)connection with nature has been featured in the Life Framer Collection. In this on-going series I portray people that have been transplanted from their living room into nature landscapes.

The driving force behind this series is my frustration regarding how humans are (un)consciously ignoring the impact we have on our planet. We sweep our house clean, not (yet/anymore) realising we are all part of a bigger ecosystem. We currently have one planet. In order not to be overtaken by its limits1, we have to rethink our priorities.

Life Framer’s description of the Collection: “A virtual art space, dedicated to some of the talented photographers from our community, and updated on a weekly basis. Find out the stories behind some of our favourite images, and be inspired…”

Don’t forget to check out the features of other artists!

Photos were selected from the series ‘No place like home’ and ‘A day at the beach’.

The launch party was in the GUP Gallery in Amsterdam. Crowded is an understatement! Photos of all the photographers were exhibited, but it was nearly impossible to walk, let alone seeing the photos. During the evening I’ve met a lot of nice people and when I went home satisfied, my backpack was a few books and kilograms heavier.
