Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 2:24-The cause of this union is ignorance.

Defining the Sutra:

When we become identified with our thoughts, our body, our money, our circumstances and/or the things we own, we become unified with them. When the object we become unified with shifts, we shift with it. It becomes our master. The cause of this union is ignorance. Not ignorance in the sense of being stupid. Yoga Sutras For Modern Day Life: Your Life, Your Evolution

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 2:23: The union of owner and owned causes the recognition of the nature and powers of them both.

Defining the Sutra

Modern Day Application

I started studying the Sutras because I wanted to...

Yoga Sutras for Modern Life: Every Experience is a Valid Experience

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 2:21- The seen only exists for the sake of the Atman.

Defining the Sutra:

In Sutra 2:18, we explored the idea that we are in this time space continuum simply to experience what this world has to offer. By saying, that the seen (everything we experience through our senses and mind) is here for the Atman (soul), Patanjali is reiterating it.

Modern Day Application

The big lesson is “don’t take it personal”.  This life is to be experienced. The...
