Border Buddy's Free PDF Tutorial Petal Promenade Suite by Stampin' Up! Card 2

This month Alison and I choose the Petal Promenade  Suite.  The patterned paper in the card today is part of the suite and called Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. This paper is spectacular and is a statement all on its own and needs very little extra to create a stunning card.

This paper is made using an actual photo of real flowers and berries.   If you missed the video in previous posts showing how they created this unique paper you can view it by clicking here.

I think I used all the items from the Petal Promenade Suite to create today's card.

Each month I hand stamped cards and send to the Top Ten in sales on my team, the Diva & Dude Stampers.  This is the card they received for July sales.

Here are the items that are part of the suite

Just in CASE Series

Each Thursday Alison Solven (CAN) and I share a card on our blogs that we have CASEd from the catalog. CASE in the stamping world means Copy and Selectively Edit.

We would like to show you how you can use some of the artwork in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogs to inspire you!  Or maybe even copy it exactly, or tweak it by changing the colors and or even the stamp set.  But remember if you go too far you just created your own card.

Bouquet Blooms Unique Gate Fold Card

Color Without Borders:
Every third Wednesday of the month Alison and I share a card using a color palette we've chosen and posted them on our blogs as part of our Color Without Borders Series.

August Color Without Borders 08

Out of the five colors in today's palette, they are all new except one.  You will recognize the Daffodil Delight as an oldie but a goodie.  The new colors are Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape making this a bright and bold palette to use.

I love bright and bold!  It was a was a challenge to get all the colors into my card.  I choose the Highland Heather for my card base.

Then after I created the first card, I wanted to see what the card would look like with Daffodil Delight.  I couldn't decide which one to share with you today, so shared both.

Sunday Sketches SS045 - Bike Ride Card

Sunday Sketches
Each Sunday I create a card using one of my card sketches. Sketches often help get my creativity fired up.  Sketches are open to interpretation.  You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout or change it up a bit. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal. Let your imagination run wild!

Do you remember learning to ride a bicycle and how scared you were? I don't remember but I do see how apprehensive our grandchildren each are when the training wheels are taken off.

I think of cards sketches much like a training wheel, giving you a bit more secure feeling as you create a card.  You have a starting point and all that is left is to choose your stamp set and colors.

For today's Sunday Sketch SS45 card, I choose three of the new Stampin' Up! Colors Mango Melody, Blueberry Bushel, and Gray Granite.  The Best Route Designer Series Paper seemed like a great match for the Bike Ride stamp set and was how I decided on the color palette for today.
