Measurements and Tips

For the card base, start with a piece of cardstock measuring 11″ x 5-1/2″.

For today’s share, I’m featuring the Double Vision card layout—a simple technique with a big visual impact.

You might be wondering, what is “double vision”? It’s an easy way to create depth and movement using strips of Designer Series Paper. Start with a piece sized 4″ x 5 1/4″ (for 1/2″ strips) or 3 3/4″ x 5″ (for 3/4″ strips). Then cut your paper into evenly spaced strips—either in 1/2″ or 3/4″ increments.

Today I’m sharing a Silly Old Bear Flip-Twist Fun Fold card! This card is perfect to showcase Sily Old Bear Designer Paper. The best part is when the card opens — the front panel twists 90 degrees, giving it a surprising and interactive look.

This fold can be made vertical or horizontal, depending on the direction of your diagonal score line. I recommend using Designer Series Paper with a neutral pattern direction, because when the card twists, the paper will change orientation.
