Sometimes we look at a stamp and immediately think of one particular season or occasion. For me, pinecones are definitely not just for Christmas! I love using them year-round, and today I’m sharing two cards featuring the beautiful Frosted Pinecones stamp set, with two different ways to create a soft watercolor-splash background.
Both techniques are simple, but they give you two completely different looks. And the best part?
One of the things I love about these Frosted Pinecones Decorative Masks is that they can be used in more than one way!
In my video, I’ll show you how to use the masks with a Blending Brush (4 per sheet) to add color and create a beautiful pine cone design. But that’s not all!
I’ll also show you how you can use the masks with your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to create an embossed texture.

If you’ve ever wanted to add soft, watercolor-style color to a background or a detailed stamp without pulling out a full ink blending kit, I’ve got two quick techniques for you today. Both use tools you probably already have on your desk — a clear block and the back of a photopolymer stamp — plus a fine mist spray bottle to bring it all together.
For this project, I’m using the Frame Violets stamp set to create a book-fold card.
