Everything's Coming Up Daisies

The Delightful Daisy Suite has already become a popular array of products in the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. I should clarify that statement. It is popular among demonstrators because we were able to preorder these products. On June 1, it will be even more popular when you will be able to order it.

Today's card uses four products from this Suite.

  1. Daisy Delight Stamp Set
  2. Daisy Punch
  3. Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP)
  4. Clear Faceted Gems

I love how the DSP is peeking out next to the offset Daisy Punch.

Directions:

  • Card Base: 4 1/4" x 11" Whisper White Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2".
  • Second Layer: 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White Cardstock. Attach a 2" x 5 1/4" piece of DSP to the right side with SNAIL Adhesive. Attach to the Card Base with SNAIL Adhesive. Stamp the sentiment in Old Olive Ink on the left side.
  • Third Layer: 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" Whisper White Cardstock. Center and punch it out with the Daisy Punch. Set aside the daisy. Attach a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of DSP to the back side with SNAIL Adhesive. Attach the daisy to the front with a Dimensional. Use Dimensionals to attach the Third Layer to the card.

Last weekend was a whirlwind birthday weekend for our middle grandgirl on Saturday and my hubby on Sunday. Here are a few photographs from Sunday's celebration.

Dan & Clarence Hammett
Dan and his cousin, Clarence, share the same birthday. I had to make birthday pins for them to wear at lunch.

At the St. Paul Saints Baseball Game

This was rare for Dan and I to be with just Melanie and Ben. We couldn't remember the last time we have done anything with just our children. On May 21, we were wearing our winter clothing and wrapped in blankets at the St. Paul Saints baseball game. We had a blast, in spite of the cold weather and rain.

Memorial day

Wishing you a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Is it a Flower or a Donut?

The first time I saw the Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set, I saw a donut in one of the floral images. A misshapen old-fashioned donut to be exact. This must be a throwback to my childhood, when my uncle would bring over a box of leftover donuts and pastries from his bakery every Friday night. He did this for a number of years, which is probably why I don't even care for donuts anymore. I have digressed a bit here. Since the image looked like a donut to me, I decided to go with it.

Presenting my Powder Pink donut, with Whisper White frosting and Powder Pink sprinkles. The "donut" image was fussy cut with Paper Snips. I added the "sweet" framelit from the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits. And, I used the Labeler Alphabet to add the word "treat".

I finished off this card by using three strands of the Linen Thread to tie a bow at the top of the tag.

Creative Inking Blog Hop - What Goes Around

Creative inking blog hop

Welcome to this month's Blog Hop featuring projects that go around, also known as circles! My project is a birthday card using the Tabs for Everything Stamp Set. Lucky you because this is another sneak peek of a stamp set that is in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. Lucky me that this was a free stamp set that I received at OnStage.

All of the 2017-2019 In Colors were used on this card. Since the images in the stamp set are small, I made them appear larger by using the 1" Circle Punch and adding a mat from the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.

The inside of the card has a birthday cake image on a Balloon Bouquet Punch. The Whisper White Baker's Twine was colored with a Sponge and a Fresh Fig Ink Pad. After it dried, it was curled by dragging it across the closed blades of a pair of Paper Snips. It was attached to the back of the balloon with Dimensionals.

I used the Circle Framelits to make an opening in the card front, as well as adding a subtle Whisper White frame around the opening.
