Just for You Card using the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set

Do you like leftovers? Not food leftovers, but papercrafting leftovers. A few weeks ago, I posted   this card   on my blog. I had a few leftovers from that card and decided to re-use some of them for today's card. The Soft Sea Foam card base and the Stitched Nested Labels Die are the two leftovers that I paired with Whisper White Cardstock and Gold Foil Sheets.

The two oval dies (scalloped Oval Layering and Stitched Shapes) fit perfectly on the Stitched Nested Labels Die. I used the small oak leaf from the Nature's Roots Dies, to cutout the center of the Gold Foil oval.

Directions:

Card Base:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Soft Sea Foam Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".

First Layer:  4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White Cardstock. Place inside the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder and put through a Die Cutting Machine. Wrap about a 4 1/2" piece of the 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the middle and secure on the back with Glue Dots.

Second Layer:  Place a Stitched Nested Labels Die on a scrap of Soft Sea Foam Cardstock and put through a Die Cutting Machine. Attach to the First Layer with Dimensionals.

Third Layer:  Place a scalloped Oval Layering Die on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock and put through a Die Cutting Machine. Attach to the Second Layer.

Fourth Layer:  Place an oval Stitched Shapes Die on a scrap of Gold Foil Paper and the small oak leaf from the Nature's Roots Dies inside the oval. It helps to use Washi Tape or a Post-It Note to hold them in place. Put them through a Die Cutting Machine. Attach to the Third Layer.

The final touches are:

  1. Stamp the sentiment with Soft Sea Foam Ink inside the leaf cutout.
  2. Make a bow with the 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and attach it with a Glue Dots.
  3. The gold small leaf (from the cutout) can be attached to the inside of the card.

This card has a nice blend of ovals and circles to soften the sharp ends of the Stitched Nested Labels Die, plus I love the stitching look on the dies. It is one of those subtle features  that change the look of a project.

Today is the last day our youngest grandgirl will be staying with us, since her Fall break from school is over. We have been having a marathon of the card game called Garbage with her. She is the reigning champion.

November is a month focused on gratitude. I am truly grateful for your continued support and our friendship, which was created out of our love of papercrafting! Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Shabby Chic Card using the Painted Harvest Stamp Set

It wouldn't be Fall without a sunflower card using the Painted Harvest Stamp Set. This is a well-loved stamp set of mine that I actually use year-round. It is very simple to change the colors of ink and cardstock to match the different seasons.

The color scheme is Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla. By combining the Stitched Rectangle Dies, the oval Stitched Shape Die, the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder, sponging and a Linen Thread bow, this card has many different details and textures to it.

Directions:

Card Base:  4 1/4" x 11" Soft Suede Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2".

First Layer:  4" x 5 1/4" Crushed Curry Cardstock

Second Layer:  3 3/4" x 5" Very Vanilla Cardstock. Place inside the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder and put through a Die Cutting Machine. Use a Sponge and a Soft Suede Ink Pad to shabby the embossed cardstock.

Third Layer:  2 3/4" x 4 1/8" Soft Suede Cardstock.

Fourth Layer:  On a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock, place a Stitched Rectangle Die and put through a Die Cutting Machine. Stamp the Sunflower images in Crushed Curry Ink. The center of the sunflowers is stamped in Soft Suede Ink. Use a Sponge and a Soft Suede Ink Pad to distress the edges of the cardstock.

Fifth Layer:  For the sentiment, use a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock and the oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies put through a Die Cutting Machine. Stamp the sentiment on the oval in Soft Suede Ink and sponge the edges. Wrap two strands of Linen Thread around the Third and Fourth Layers and tie in a bow on the left side. Use Dimensionals to attach the oval to the right side of the card.

This week, our oldest grandgirl turned 16. It doesn't seem possible to me that she will be driving soon. Yesterday's Stamp Therapy class was extra-fun because some long-time stamping friends were able to attend.

Stay toasty-warm this Thursday, as it is 25 degrees today in Minnesota. Many thanks for each of you who stop by my blog!!!

Thinking of You Card using the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set

The Colorful Seasons Stamp Set is one of my well-loved stamp sets. Because it can be used for four seasons, it has seen a lot of ink since I purchased it.
