Stachys

ROCK GARDEN'S ACCOYO STACHYS

Soft and fine doesn't even begin to describe this boy - 16.4 microns with a 99.3% comfort factor; Stachys is exhibiting the same characteristics as his grandsire,  Accoyo Pinachi - on his dam, Sunflower's side; adding a proven, yet rare Accoyo genetic to his pedigree. Stachys's first EPD Report at the age of 1 places him in the Top 10-15% of the National Herd for all but 2 of the traits.

His grandsire Accoyo Pinachi was one of the best alpacas to come from one of the last imports from Peru in 1998. Personally selected by Julio Sumar for Derwydd Alpacas; Pinachi's fleece was super dense, bundled and crimpy with a high sheen, as is Stachy's.  Pinachi died in 2007 from pneumonia and with only 38 cria on the ground, his incredible genetics are very rare, very sought after and can no longer be reproduced. Sunflower Girl was the very last cria sired by Pinachi. Sunflower's dam is Accoyo Mayflower, a Caligular and Vengador grandaughter who also has extraordinarily dense, crimpy, fine fleece. A beautiful alpaca with the elite fleece characteristics that high quality, well bred Accoyos are known for.

Sunflower has consistently placed within the Top 1% of AOA'S National Herd EPD Traits for MSL and FW and the Top 10% for %M since 2013 with her most recent being #68 out of 39442 for MSL, #173 for FW and #1070 for %M. Her first cria, a male, who we named Rock Gardens Accoyo Cosmo, is a 2015 & 2016 Top 5 EPD Trait Leader for FW and since 2013 has continually been in the Top 1% and 10% for most of the other traits.

Stachy's sire is Ideuma Creek's Accoyo Truman; who also comes from top notch genetics. His dam is Accoyo Venice, a maternal granddaughter of Victor and a paternal granddaughter of Royal Fawn. Venice comes by her Royal Fawn genetics through her sire, 4X champion, 11X blue ribbon winner and 3X get-of-sire winner, Accoyo Maverick. Truman's sire is Accoyo Stratosphere, a 5X blue ribbon winning Legacy son who has more than 40 champion cria on the ground. In short Truman blends Victor, Royal Fawn and Legacy genetics.

Gladiola

ROCK GARDEN'S PERUCOYO GLADIOLA

Gladiola is the product of our two original cria from the first two bred alpacas that we started our farm with in 2011. We expected this pairing to bring an outstanding cria and it did! Gladiola arrived with a little assistance from us and is a fantastic medium fawn girl like her mother with fine, dense, crimpy long, soft fleece like her father. We are very pleased with how this breeding turned out, it really couldn't miss - at age 1 Gladiola's micron was 21.3 with a standard deviation of 5.0; coefficient of variation 23.3, spin fineness 21.1, Fibers>30 4.9%, with a comfort factor of 95.1%. Her first EPD Test results placed her in the Top 1% for FW, the Top 10% for %F>30, MC and %M and the Top 15% for AFD, SDAFD and SF.

Her dam is our Rock Garden Perucoyo Zinnia, a sweet beautiful, medium fawn multiple ribbon winning alpaca with a very rare bloodline and fleece that is extremely fine and uniform throughout. Zinnia has consistently placed in the Top 1 - 10% on AOA's EPD Trait Leaders reports in 2013, 2014 2015 and 2016 for the traits of SDAFD, SF, %F>30, MC, and SDMC. Zinnia's dam is our girl Ivy (Gianna's Peruvian Ivy), whose genetics are also extremely rare. Ivy was a Top 5 EPD Trait Leader in 2013 and 2015 for the trait SDAFD and missed by one in 2014; was #6.

Gladiola's sire is our herdsire, Rock Gardens Accoyo Cosmo who has once again been named one of AOA's Top 5 EPD Trait Leaders for 2016 in fleece weight and will be featured in their presentation during the Alpaca Owners Association National Show and Auction in 2017. Cosmo had also been named one of AOA's Top 5 EPD Trait Leaders for 2015 for fleece weight. At 5 years of age, he once again continues to be in the Top 10% for AF #1825 out of 21089, SF #1796, %F>30 #812, %M #491 and MSL #346.
