Mermaid Dragonfly Birthday Wishes

Good morning!  Have you seen the new stencils and the new Card Bling over at A Colorful Life Designs?  I'm in love with this new Chunky Chevron stencil - you can use it for anything!  The new colors of Card Bling are just dreamy, and I really wanted to to use this new Crystal Metallic Mermaid color.  It's a gorgeous shiny blue-green color, and it coordinates beautifully with the blue-green dragonflies I used on this card.

I started by placing the new Chunky Chevron stencil over a panel of white cardstock.  I spread some glittery white paste over the whole panel in a very random fashion, with some areas of full coverage and some areas not completely filled in.  I wanted that "grunge" look as a beautiful contrast to the glittery paste.  After the paste was completely dry, I adhered the sentiment which was die cut from black cardstock.  Next, some dragonflies were die cut from a panel of watercolor cardstock that I had used to soak up some blue and teal inks off my glass mat from a previous project.  Then I pulled out the gorgeous Crystal Metallic Mermaid Card Bling and affixed them all over the card.  This panel was then glued to a white card base.

Rainbow Shaker Woof

Good morning!  I have a super fun card to share with y'all today.  This one is alllllll about the bling!  I bought all of the new May Card Bling colors from A Colorful Life Designs, and some of the colors really screamed "rainbow" to me.  So I pulled out five of the new colors and then added another darker green color from a previous release to make this colorful shaker card.

I started by placing the new Puppy Woof stencil (adorable!!!!!) over some white cardstock, and I brushed some black ink over the whole thing.  Then I cut some plastic packaging just a bit larger than my stenciled panel and taped it to the back of the panel on three sides.  With one end left open, I poured in the following colors of Card Bling:

Opaque Iridescent Dark Pink
Crystal Iris Clementine
Rainbow Pearl Fern
Opaque Iridescent Blue
Opaque Iridescent Dark Purple
Crystal Iris Seaspray (previously released)

After I poured in the Card Bling, I taped the opening shut and then adhered this shaker panel to a white card base.  Look at all those bags of bling!  Even after pouring some into this shaker card, there is plenty of bling left in the containers.  You get a lot of sequins in each container, so don't be afraid to use them in shaker cards.  This card is super colorful and shiny and FUN!  Wouldn't this be a great way to announce the adoption of a new puppy?

Amazing Dotted Lines in Watercolor

Good morning!  There is a new release over at A Colorful Life Designs, and I had SO much fun playing with these new stencils this month!  I was immediately drawn to this new Dotted Lines stencil, and I wanted to see how it looked in watercolor.  Before I could start painting, I had to actually stencil the panel first.

So, I placed the Dotted Lines stencil over some watercolor paper, and then I sponged some Versamark over the entire panel.  I carefully removed the stencil, covered the paper with some white embossing powder, tapped off the excess powder, and then melted it with a heat tool.  Then I pulled out some liquid watercolors (pale pink and a pinky/orange color) and alternated the colors for each "line."  While this stenciled panel was drying, I die cut the "you" from watercolor paper and painted that with the pinky/orange watercolor.  I die cut a circle from white cardstock, stamped the "are amazing!" with black ink, and then glued the watercolored "you" above the stamped sentiment (Hero Arts).  The stenciled panel was adhered to a white card and then I glued the sentiment circle to the center of the panel.

I love how this turned out, and it's a different look for this stencil.  Check out the great new May release and be sure to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% off your entire order (excluding Master Creator Bundles).  Grab this Dotted Lines stencil and put it into your cart along with all the other fabulous stencils that catch your eye.  The Master Creator Bundles have been split up into three bundles - Backgrounds, Cats, and Dogs.  You can pick and choose which bundle(s) you need!  Don't forget about the new Card Bling - it's so gorgeous!  You can get all 12 new colors at a special price for just this week AND you can use my code, HollyFan10, to save another 10% off this Card Bling special.  I'll be back tomorrow with a fun card that uses five of these new colors.  Have a wonderful day!

Eye Rolling is my Cardio

Good morning!  Today's card is fun and snarky!  I just love that sentiment - it's so me!  LOL

I was rooting around in my stash of background panels and I found this pale purple one.  Sometimes when I have leftover ink or watercolor on my glass mat, I will soak it up with white cardstock and set it aside.  That's what happened here - it is a lovely pale lilac background with some water droplets here and there.  I placed the Four Squares stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over this panel and brushed on a darker purple ink around the edges.  I deliberately avoided stenciling ink over the center so I'd have some room for the sentiment.

I removed the Four Squares stencil and then placed the Eye Rolling stencil so that this sentiment was in the center of this purple panel.  I brushed on a heavier application of the purple ink and that really makes this sentiment stand out.  After I removed this stencil, I glued the stenciled panel to a white card.  Some Purple Reign Mix Card Bling was added randomly all over the card for a fun and whimsical touch.

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% off your entire order (excluding Master Creator Bundles) at A Colorful Life Designs.  Check out all the fabulous snarky sentiment stencils as well as the cool geometric stencils in the April release.  Don't forget to grab some of the gorgeous colors of Card Bling - they are the perfect accent for your cards and projects.  Have a great day!

Joyful Snowy Trees

Good morning!  Today is the last day for the Spring Into Christmas Linky Party on the BYSHC blog, and I'm entering one more card into the challenge.  I have been on a little mission to use up the 75+ jars of stencil pastes that I have in my craft room before they dry up.  This Forest of Trees stencil from A Colorful Life Designs was on my crafting table, so I decided to try two different colors of green paste with this stencil.

I placed the Forest of Trees stencil over some black cardstock and then spread a light green and a darker green paste over the entire panel.  I removed the stencil and set this panel aside to dry completely.  You can see areas of lighter green trees and then some darker green trees all over the panel, and they really stand out against the black cardstock.  I wanted this to have a wintery feel, so I splattered some white paint over the whole panel and then I glued this to a white card.  Lastly, I stamped and die cut the sentiment (Hero Arts) and glued it onto the card.

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% off your entire order (excluding Master Creator Bundles) at A Colorful Life Designs.  I hope you were inspired to play in the Spring Into Christmas Linky Party this week, and hopefully you have added several cards to your holiday stash.  I can't wait for the next linky party!!  Happy Friday, y'all!!

Glittery Red Poinsettias Holidays

Good morning!  I'm still playing along with the Spring into Christmas Linky Party over on the BYSHC blog, and today's card is very red and very glittery.  I placed the Poinsettias stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over some white cardstock and then I spread some glittery red paste over the whole thing.  After it was completely dry, I trimmed this panel down and adhered it to a black card.  I also added a small black strip to the center, stamped and die cut the sentiment (Hero Arts), and adhered the sentiment with some foam tape to the center of the card.

It's so sparkly and glittery!  This card will be so easy to mail because I don't have any bulky embellishments on it.  The glittery background doesn't need any extra embellishing.  Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% off your entire order (excluding Master Creator Bundles) when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  The Linky Party will end on Friday, so be sure to join the fun and share your holiday cards over on the BYSHC blog.

Winter Blessings Ice Skates and Sled

Good morning!  It is cold here this morning thanks to a cold front that blew in this weekend.  We've gone from almost 90 degrees down to 50, so I'm enjoying the cooler temps while I can.  It will be a long hot summer before you know it!

There is a Spring into Christmas linky party going on this week over on the BYSHC blog, and I put this card together last night.  It's more wintery than Christmas, which is fine for this linky party.  All the entries must be Christmas, wintery, Yuletide, or Hanukkah themed.  I started by placing the Sparkles stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over some blue cardstock and I spread some icy silver paste over the panel.  While the paste was drying, I die cut the sled and the ice skates (Spellbinders) and glued those together.  I also die cut the tiny snowflakes (Taylored Expressions) and stamped and cut the sentiment (Hero Arts).  After I assembled the sled, I glued the ice skates on top and added the tiny snowflakes and the sentiment.  I affixed the sled to the stenciled background with foam tape and then glued this panel to a white card base.

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% (excluding Master Creator Bundles) when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  They have awesome stencils as well as stamps and Card Bling.  Check out the Christmas category for hundreds of fabulous stencils for your winter and holiday cards.  I hope I've inspired you to create a card and play in the Spring into Christmas Linky Party this week.  Happy Monday!
