toronto was playing like it did last season. and unfortunately for them so was ottawa.

was it my imagination or was ottawa skating circles around toronto? doesn't look like chara's absence is going to make that much difference to their game

carolina was the best team in the league. they  proved it tonight.

i'll complain about the stupid things edmonton did tomorrow :)

carolina got a little taste of their own medicine by getting skunked 4-0.

what did edmonton do different. they did what the announcers, commentators, even the prime minister of canada said they had to do. SHOOT THE FRIGGIN' PUCK AT THE NET

and what were the shots on goal? 35 to 16. could be edmonton will make the connection that every single person in canada made.

i like carolina, during the season they were the best team in the league. but to be honest they don't want the stanley cup nearly as bad as edmonton wants it.

carolina @ edmonton game 4

i was pretty sure edmonton wasn't going to win two in a row. last night they played pretty good hockey. only a few missed passes and one really stupid penalty.

they probably played as well as any of their best efforts this season...but it wasn't quite enough.

and now they have to win the next 3 games. i don't think they can do it. they don't seem like they're fired up enough about the stanley cup.

one thing edmonton has over carolina (or ANY american team for that matter) is the fans. nobody sings the national anthem louder than canadian fans. edmonton won't be able to blame fan support if they lose.

• edmonton effectively has no goalie in the net

it looked like edmonton was really going to do it in the first two periods.

by the middle of the third, i knew that edmonton would not win the series if they kept playing like they were...

i couldn't watch the rest of the game after the goalie got hammered. unless conklin performs 4 out of 7 miracles i think it's safe to say edmonton won't be taking home the cup this season.

carolina @ buffalo game 7

i figured that daniel briere wasn't going to be able to save the team.

buffalo played pretty well considering a number of their guys were out of commission.

i'm pretty sure they reason they lost the game was because in the last 5 minutes they kept dumping the puck into the hurricane's end. this caused them to lose control of the puck and it gave carolina the puck. it was frustrating watching it...

of course carolina was given the puck enough times to out-score on buffalo
