Great that US is totally* with Indians…..and in my locality….UT Drive, Charlotte, the ratio is 7:3(Indians:All other)

which is really interesting for most of our junior guys including me…..Also telugu guys have the ratio(30:45)ie(telugu:Other) which is even pretty good for telugu guys like me who knew only Telugu and English….Luckily I can understand a bit of other languages…which is just letting me go like this….

Embarassingly for me there are many telugu guys who can speak Hindi so well with other guys living here….Not much of a problem though…bcoz,, all of us can manage somehow in English…..We also try to speak each others languages which is very good sign among we guys.

Ok now with the statistics and info…I will leave now..Will see if any one of u need more information on this regard…just comment down here….Thanks for being so patient all thru this break….

* After all I ‘ve seen just a half of the city

After my post on how to manually configure your PC to type telugu and serious discussions together with the telugu bloggers, few of them met in Hyd to decide in launching a software that would automatically set up your PC for typing Telugu.

So, this may mitigate your burden to some extent. Just keep waiting, if you want the software for free.

Meanwhile, you can learn abt manually setting up here, and read the official telugu peoples’ blog here. You can also check for the phonetic editor here

Disclaimer: No Guarantee, regarding this automatic telugu enabling software from my side..I can just inform u when, it is released.

For some time forget about “telugu”. My latest crush is with Orkut, now. Very soon, I was able to cross the mark of having 100 friends.

I have successfully found many of my valuable old friends, maintained better touch with my current mates and, even made new friends.

Received good conducts, appreciations, pleasure, and sheer fun.
The best thing about orkut is we can rely upon it(one for no ads) and the search feature for finding old and lost friends.

You can put your friends in custom groups for easy use, send them messages, scraps etc. You can be a fan and make another, your fan also. You can chill out with funny character that people create and maintain, just for humor.

Orkut is all entertainment, coupled with valuable information which, either you can deliver or can get it. You can have a better view from my pictures here.

Difficult times for Telugu July 22, 2006

You would ask me, why, I brought in, another article (of Ganguly’s controversy) amidst serious discussions about Telugu, slang, bringing popularity etc. But, what I can tell you is, things were going on seriously in the background.

While I said hard-time, you would have expected another serious issue on telugu usage in PCs…yeah! that absolutely true. This time, even more serious issue, actually trying to shake out from the radicals.

What?!….yeah, from radicals…That is what I am mentioning it as hard-time.

If you check out these pics 1 2 3 4. That is how most of our browsers regularly show(encode) the telugu text from a typical telugu website and at many netcafes, it is even worser than that. One more thing I want you to notice is that, these are from the so called best browser today(Firefox) and with almost all extensions installed for Telugu and (UTF-8).

Interesting thing is that, the author(of those pages) somehow, managed to get the page slugs also in Telugu.(when seen from firefox but, in IE, it is like this). One thing… Firefox doesn’t have built in Telugu support but, for Tamil! I bet, you wont be able to upload a file named in ‘telugu’

When I bring these things into light, I feel that, someone would put necessary work into it, because, currently, I am no geek at any level (I know).

Summary: Bring out a good browser compatible for telugu, a complete telugu website, and a chanllenging clean telugu software….with telugu translations…forget using rarely used words. Dont try to radically change every word into telugu( dont try to inject forgotten telugu words). The script is what, we have to bring in very urgently.

His target this time is the former chairman of BCCI, Mr.Jagmohan Dalmia. Others would have surprised about the latest hot dispute but, not to me at all (infact I have expected it earlier).

Having lost his place in the team, I feel that, he spoke these lines only out of desperation; I have some reasons to understand this way.

Earlier, he was critiqued severely from the present coach, Chappel, for which, he treated him in offensive way… and now, when things are all going right in Chappel’s way, his turned his gun on Dalmia’s neck. This… I dont think is a way to win!!!

May be, both of them were blaming each other for their mis-fortune. So, I too will need some one to get blamed out of my unfortunate and miserable situations, just kiddding!

It all began with vigor, when, wordpress announced, translation into different international languages and asking their end users for good contributions.(atleast for me)

But, clean interfaces for telugu people are just a myth and not availabe from any good software vending company. Even with those tools from ILDC, there is not much use when it comes to many of us.

People have kept translating few things( softwares, webpages) into Telugu, but, using the slang which is not very much in usage(or spoken) these days. It would help any co-telugu-bloggers only when we have a common as well as easily understandable language on such things(esp. for web2.0 stuffs). It could encourage more people of our state, use telugu, when things there are very easy to understand, until then we cant expect good days for our mother tongue.

Well, then we can incorporate the usage of correct telugu words when, there are quite good no.of people using telugu things and quite good resources from different web 2.0 guys for the language.

About how to do this, we shall take Eenadu‘s usage(becoz most of are fond of it…) of our language as a temporary standard until telugu usage has become popular enough to admit a change.

Snip: Please download vemana2000.ttf if u get it anywhere or here, to have a better view of ur text and begin rending that font to whatever telugu text you ever type.

Summary: First attempt to get the script in telugu, we can bother about the slang later…almost all of us can understand variety of telugu slangs…because, people got adopted to reading Eenadu’s style of Telugu, I too recommended it. Whatever u feel, scrap my comment book!

Couple of days in Chennai July 11, 2006

Recently, I have been to Chennai for assisting my grand parents in getting their US visa. Also, that it would give me some aquaintancy with the US consulate.

It was this time that, I had got some better impressions on the metro… I see it like a magnified Vijayawada and a treated Hyderabad, except the beach( I dint go to anyway).

Prior to this visit, I used to think that the people in TN were not as cooperative as those of my native state ( because, I had undergone drastic situations during my previous visits to the city- esp. during DEC’05 when it flooded on my GRE and caused so much procrastination).

This time, I have had a good chance to understand the city.. esp those local railway stations, subways, the Chennai central and of course the US consulate and ANNA SALAI.

But, it was difficult to get a crocin tablet or a water bottle even in such a populated place…I had to walk not less than 3km. And, the auto fares are really too much…”Madrasi autowallas are having it too cool driving an auto” 🙂

Luckily, I could discover my ability to make friends in minutes…I made Mohan-my friend in just 10 min of gossip. So, you cant blame me as poor at comm. skills…haha!

I ‘ve really so much more to say abt the city…but next time sure!

byee Chennai 🙂

Use helmet and shit! July 9, 2006

My head is n’t properly secured and you demand fine for that!?… I am talking about the “compulsory helmet” rule in AP….I am really skeptical whether this rule was made for the welfare of the drivers or for those greedy traffic shitting pigs.

Why skeptical?

>> Until now they were collecting fine inorder not to harm the co-travellers but, now it is very much absurd that we have to pay fine because, we ourselves are not secure.

>> Good, you wear the helmet! but, how will you protect the guy sitting on your back seat.

>> How can you carry that vessel to every city you go? Is it not sounding stupid?

>> You could request a bike in emergency but, I bet, you dont want to beg a sweating dirty helmet.

>> It is not all that easy to wear a damn heavy thing all the time, is it?…then, you are great!!!

I see this dramatic new rule, only as a much better source of easy income to traffic constables, mid-brokers, and those shitting stupid donkeys.

Those bull shit guys make money out of peoples’ innocence and discomfort

hey!…dont know driving a two-wheeler at all?…then you are safe!

Disclaimer: I dont mention shitting about every one…hope that doesn’t hurt you
