Stampin' Up! 100th Birthday Concertina Card

I had the lovely honour of making a very special card for my great aunt who turned 100 yesterday. My dad went to her birthday celebration in NSW and took the card up for me.

Stampin up, 100 birthday card, concertina card, tranquil textures designer series paper, tranquil tide, powder pink, berry burst, australia, butterfly gala, silver glimmer cardstock, big shot, happy birthday thinlits, large number framelits, little number thinlits
The "card" and I say that in inverted commas as the card itself is made from the thick cardboard that comes in the memories and more page protectors and measures just over 6" x 8" (when closed) and is a concertina card. When the entire card is open flat, it is over 2.3m long (it didn't fit on my table and I had to measure my kitchen table to give you that measurement!) The card has 100 years worth of history and facts inside it along with birthday wishes and large letters spelling out happy birthday.

Most of the information (history and facts) is on the backside of the concertina card) so it isn't so overwhelming when you open the card but the first 17 years is on the 2 end panels of the front side of the card.

I choose to break up the words happy and birthday with some small balloons and kept to the same colour same colour scheme as I had been using through out the card. I used some retired die cut numbers to put a small 100 on the balloons in silver glimmer cardstock.

This card was definitely a labour of love to put together. From the research of all the information to the final assembly of the card but I certainly did learn a lot about Australian history in the process and I made what I think is a pretty WOW card as well.

Many of the products used on this card are retiring, if you want to grab any of them, the shopping list is at the bottom of the blog post, they products that are are on the the last chance list are are while stocks last. I'd suggest placing any orders for last chance products ASAP.

Stampin' Up! New Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

May-blog-hop
Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative products using supplies from the upcoming 2019 - 2020 annual catalogue. If you would like a copy of the brand new annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

You may have come to my blog from Tina Gillespie. Blog hops are full circles, so start blog hopping here and at the end of my post (and everyone else's) there is a link to the next post.

I have chosen to showcase the "It Starts With Art Bundle" for today's blog hop and I am only using the 'it starts with art' cling mount stamp set and arts and crafts dies and the follow your art designer series paper but there is much more in the product suite. I'd love to show you the inside of the catalogue right now, but I can't showcase that online just yet!
When you get your catalogue this product suite can be found on page 53 and it includes what I have listed above and a stunning embossing folder called button button, an embellishment kit featuring felt accents, charms and more, the sweetest little mini shipping boxes and washi tape. There is a lot in this product suite I tell you!

Here's a sneak peak of the embossing folder, the embellishment kit box along with some of the product on the outside of the box, the mini shipping boxes and the washi tape. These photos are all from the Demonstrator only event (OnStage) I attended in Auckland last month and some were taken on the big screen (hence the fingers in photos).

Moving on to my creation for the blog post. I made a z fold card that with stamped images that I coloured the with stampin' blends and filled in some blank spots with basic rhinestone jewels as it not only filled in the blank spots but it also echoed the sentiment.

I did not use a sentiment on the inside of the card, as I wanted to keep the card neutral for any occasion for a crafting friend.

Stampin' Up! Ink Swiping with Butterfly Beauty Thinlits

On today's card I've used the ink swiping technique on the sadly retiring glossy cardstock and used 5 inkpads in an ombre design to create a sky to grass shading for the butterfly beauty thinlits to sit on. The silver glimmer cardstock and basic black combination really pop on the ombre background don't they?

If you are in Australia and want to grab some of the products I used to make this card, the follow products I used are retiring products:
Big shot, multi purpose adhesive sheets (already sold out), glossy cardstocklemon lime twist cardstock and lemon lime twist ink pad. Please note, the last three items, have limited stocks left, and I'd suggest placing any orders ASAP.
