Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #28 Melon Mambo

Colour-creations
Our twenty eighth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is melon mambo from the brights collection. I have chosen melon mambo, mango melody and pool party from the color coach to work with today.
Melon-mambo
I've used the amazing new beauty abounds cling mount stamp set and butterfly beauty thinlets dies from the beauty abounds bundle from the upcoming occasions  catalogue that is released on January 3rd, 2019. Isn't the butterfly thinlets amazing? I didn't on this card but in future, I will be die cutting the butterflies with the multipurpose adhesive sheets on the back (of the cardstock) to make them much easier to adhere in place, as sticking the finer details of the butterflies down was interesting!
I also used one of the many textured stamps from timeless textures to add some interest to the mango melody cardstock which is a great way to add the look of texture but without any bulk.

I've decorated the inside of the card using the larger of the two butterflies that I have trimmed down with my paper snips (so it is not so large!) I have left the inside sentiment free as with the card being a for you card, I wanted to keep it neutral for any occasion.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop - #26 Lovely Lipstick

Colour-creations
Our twenty sixth colour we are focusing on for the colour collections blog hop is lovely lipstick from the 2018 - 2020 in color collection. I have chosen lovely lipstick, pineapple punch and basic grey from the color coach to work with today.
Lovely-lipstickI've used the fun colour combination today to create a camera birthday card. Perfect for the selfie tween and teen birthdays my kids go to. The envelope punch board came in handy to create the base of my camera. I started with a piece of basic gray cardstock 12cm x 8cm (4 3/4" x 3 3/16") and the envelope punch board. I made a tab at the top by lining up the cardstock (the left hand side) 3.8cm (1 1/2") and punched (then I flipped the card over and repeated it on the other side to create an even tab.) Trim off the excess cardstock using paper trimmer and round the corners (if you wish). I added a strip of 5cm (2") wide designer series paper for added colour.

Art with Heart Sketch Blog Hop

November-blog-hop
Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring a card sketch. We hope you like how we have each put our own spin on the sketch and that it inspires you to get creative and make some fabulous cards. If you are inspired by the sketch, please share with us!

This is the card sketch we are all using.Blog-hop-sketchYou may have come to my blog from Sue MadexBlog hops are full circles, so start blog hopping here and and at the end of my post (and everyone else's) there is a link to the next post.

Today I have a card using the sketch as featured above. I did "stretch" the sketch somewhat and changed the orientation of my card. The is my favourite thing about sketches, they are a fabulous starting point for you but a tweak here or there and you can change the look completely with a few minor changes.

I have used the amazing Joyous Noel speciality designer series paper and glimmer paper on my card today along with the Christmas Pines stamp set. I love the subtle copper in the designer series paper and how elegant it makes cards look. A few copper accents is all my card needed to be "complete" after the basic design of the card.

As I made a custom sized card (it measures 11.4cm x 16.5cm [4 1/2" x 6 1/2"]) I've whipped up an envelope on the envelope punch board. I added a piece of designer series paper on the back of the envelope to tie it into the card. This is also a great way to use up some of your designer series paper stash if you need help!
